Talk: the Talmont coast through the ages

Poster for the talk “Le littoral talmondais au fil des âges”

A look back at how the coast of Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, in the Vendée, has changed: from the days when dinosaurs roamed the region — they left their footprints on the rocks of Le Veillon — to the recent changes of the Veillon dune.

The talk tells the story of the Havre du Payré from the Middle Ages to the present day, and of the men and women who lived and worked on this coast.

It continues in the book “Le littoral talmondais, une longue et passionnante histoire” (Amis du château et du patrimoine talmondais, 2017).
